Alexander Arzoo, DO

Alex Arzoo, DO is an Internal Medicine resident at San Antonio Regional Hospital. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at California Health Sciences University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Clovis, California, and completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, San Diego where he graduated in General Biology with a minor in Psychology.

Dr. Arzoo’s interest in medicine began at a young age, when his father, an oncologist, would take him to observe his practice. Since then, he has been inspired to pursue a career in the aid of others. His passion was stoked by completing his EMT-B certification and working in the underserved areas of Los Angeles County, where he observed firsthand the disparities in healthcare he hoped to counter as a physician.

Dr. Arzoo also has a passion for research in medicine and has extensively contributed to peer-reviewed research publications in the subjects of diabetic emergencies, Parkinson’s disease, Lyme disease, among others. He enjoys presenting fascinating subjects and case reports at medical conferences.

His academic and personal experiences contribute to his holistic focus in both patient care and life. He chose Internal Medicine as the chance to be at the forefront of the ever-evolving field of medicine while being able to provide compassionate aid to the acutely ill. Outside of medicine, Dr. Arzoo enjoys reading murder mystery novels, hiking, and finding time to spend with his family as his career begins.
