Abel Woldeabezegi, MD

I earned my medical degree from Mekelle University College of Health Sciences in Ethiopia in 2020. My journey in medicine has taken me from working with underserved and displaced communities in Ethiopia to contributing to clinical research in the United States. These experiences strengthened my commitment to patient care, lifelong learning, and the pursuit of better health outcomes.

I was drawn to medicine because it combines service, problem-solving, and meaningful human connection. I value the opportunity to build relationships with patients and help them navigate some of life's most challenging moments.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, reading self-help and personal development books, and exploring different cultures and cuisines.

As I begin residency training at San Antonio Regional Hospital, my goal is to become a well-rounded physician and make a positive impact on my patients and community.
