Mental and Behavioral Health Services

Take the first step toward a peaceful mind here.

Walk-ins Only

San Antonio Regional Hospital is expanding its integrated care model with the addition of Mental and Behavioral Health Services at its Ontario Urgent Care Plus location. This innovative program bridges the gap between physical and mental health by offering urgent care–type brief services for individuals experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, grief, or other short-term mental health challenges. The Mental and Behavioral Health Services Clinic provides compassionate assessments that address the physical, mental, emotional, social, and environmental factors affecting a patient’s well-being. While Urgent Care Plus is not designed for long-term therapy, LCSW works closely with on-site physicians and physician assistants to provide immediate support and short-term interventions. Patients who need ongoing care are connected with trusted community mental health professionals, community resources, or the San Antonio Regional Hospital network for continued support.

By combining urgent care and behavioral/mental health under one roof, Urgent Care Plus delivers convenient, accessible, and holistic care to patients without a primary care physician, those in underserved communities, and anyone seeking immediate help for mild mental health symptoms, behaviors, or conditions.

Common Mental and Behavioral Health Topics

My name is Sara Khan, M.D. and I'm the Chief Population Health Officer here at San Antonio Regional Hospital. Urgent Care Plus is one of our newest innovations that I am genuinely very excited about. Mental health is a very, very basic need. It's as basic as your need for food and water. And when you think about it, why is it that if I have a hurt in my body, if I have a fever, if I have a urinary tract infection, I can walk into an urgent care and they'll treat me immediately. But if I'm suffering from mental health issues, I have to wait two weeks, three weeks, two months before somebody will actually talk to me. So urgent care plus, the idea is we want to treat not just your body. We want to treat your mind.

And that's our promise to you. If you open the door and walk in because you're not having a good day, we will see you. We will try to make all the difference. And if we are not what you need, we will help connect you to the resources that you require. In the Inland Empire, even as we're compared to California, anxiety and depression are things that are rampant. And sometimes you just need someone to be able to talk to. Sometimes you just need a little bit of help. And we are absolutely here for you.

And Urgent Care Plus is open to anyone. It does not make a difference whether you have insurance, what kind of insurance you have. We are absolutely willing to see you. Hi everyone.

My name is Dominique Salido Sawyer, MSW, LCSW. I'm a licensed clinical social worker at at San Antonio Regional Hospital, and I'll be taking on the role of urgent care social worker with the hospital. Urgent Care Plus is a component of mental behavioral health with the existing urgent care services, and we're looking to, serve those with mild to moderate symptoms, behaviors, and conditions, as well as linking them with long term resources, in the community and any programs that they may need, we're happy to do that here. So if you're looking for support, if you're feeling extra lonely or you're feeling isolated, if you're sad, you have a low mood or just anxious, coming to Urgent Care Plus would be a good place to start, so we can kind of assess and see what you're experiencing and see how we can support you in that and then, of course, provide new linkage if you need to anywhere in the community. So if you're noticing that any particular symptoms are impacting like your work, your ability to find work, or take care of your tasks at work, or even just activities that you do on a daily basis, completing projects, going to the grocery stores, things like that, socializing with your family or your friends or even trying to make friends or if you notice that what you're experiencing is really impacting your ability to manage your medical appointments and just keeping everything organized, that might be a sign for you to come in and and chat with us. We're located in Ontario off of Mountain And West 4th Street in a plaza. So come and visit us. We're really excited to be able to offer these services to the community and just see how we can all support each other. So check us out.
